해석 : 해양경찰은 국가로 밀수하려던 밀수품 화물을 압수했다.

① stowaway : 밀입국자
② edible goods : 먹을 수 있는 상품
③ manufactured articles : 제조된 품목
④ goods imported or exported illegally : 불법으로 수입하거나 수출된 상품

-> 약간 어려울 수 있는 단어가 섞여 있어 해석이 잘 안될 수도 있는 문제이다. 하지만 Port official 중의 하나인 customs officer 가 하는 일 중, 밀수품을 점검하는 일로 smuggling 이라던지 contraband 라던지 하는 단어는 친숙해두어야 하겠다. 그 나라에 반입, 반출이 금지된 항목, 한국으로 예를 들면 마약류 등을 들여오는 일이다.

1) stowaway 는 쿠바난민을 떠올리면 되고 밀입국자이다.
2) edible 이라는 단어는 자주 보이는 단어는 아닌데 "먹을 수 있는"이라는 뜻이다.
